Florida is a right-to-work state, and there is no citywide union jurisdiction controlling booth work the way planners experience in Chicago or Boston. At the Orange County Convention Center, the building itself handles utilities with labor included in the rate, which removes a whole category of surprise invoices. One OCCC-specific note worth knowing: the center is the exclusive provider of electricity, rigging, and utilities in its halls, with flat-rate pricing and labor included. What still applies at any major OCCC show: your show's general service contractor controls freight and material handling on the floor. Getting around Orlando
Orlando International (MCO) sits about 13 miles from the Orange County Convention Center, roughly a 20 minute drive via the SR 528 toll road in normal traffic. Taxis run about $40 to $50, rideshare often more during show surges.
If your event lives on International Drive, skip the rental. The convention district is dense and walkable, four hotels connect to OCCC directly, and rideshare is plentiful. Rent a car only if your program includes off-corridor site visits or a Gaylord Palms/Shingle Creek stay with multiple daily hops.
OCCC parking is $21.30 per day with tax for standard vehicles ($42.60 oversized), cashless, first-come first-served, no overnight parking. For the North-South Building, use the Universal Boulevard entrance, the center's own recommendation.

Weather worth planning for
June through September, Orlando runs near-daily afternoon thunderstorms, and Atlantic hurricane season officially spans June 1 to November 30. Indoor events are unaffected, but if a named storm is anywhere on the map during your window, we build an extra buffer day into freight planning.
