Union and labor reality at Moscone
Here is the honest version. Moscone is a union building. Teamsters Local 2785 has jurisdiction over freight, load-in, and drayage; Local 510 handles exhibit installation and dismantle; IBEW Local 6 handles booth electrical. In practice, your machine arrives crated at the dock during your assigned move-in window on the schedule your general service contractor sets, union freight moves it to your booth space, and it plugs into the booth power you ordered (a standard outlet's worth, nothing exotic).
What you handle: ordering booth power through the show's electrical form and giving your GSC our freight details, which we hand you pre-filled. What our Pro Set-Up Service handles: a technician on site to assemble, test, tune, and load the machine once freight sets it in your space, so it is dialed in before the floor opens. This is exactly how the OpenAI build ran, and it is why that machine was tested and tuned before doors on day one.
Outside Moscone, San Francisco gets dramatically easier. Fort Mason's Festival Pavilion has direct vehicle access, the Palace of Fine Arts has its own truck dock, and hotel ballrooms and offices are standard deliveries. If your event is not in a Moscone hall, union labor is mostly a non-issue, and we will say so on your discovery call rather than sell you complexity you do not need.

Getting around San Francisco
SFO to Moscone Center is about 14 miles: 20 to 35 minutes by car depending on the 101, or BART direct from SFO to Powell Street Station in roughly 30 minutes, then a 10 minute walk to the halls. OAK sits across the Bay Bridge, typically 30 to 45 minutes by car, longer at peak.
Verdict: skip the rental car. Moscone sits in walkable SoMa, most conference hotels are within 3 blocks, and between rideshare, BART, and Waymo robotaxis (a very on-brand way to arrive at a tech conference), a car is a liability, not an asset. SoMa garages like the Moscone Center Garage on 3rd Street and the Fifth & Mission garage exist, but they fill during majors and downtown rates add up fast. If you must drive, never leave anything visible in a parked car. This is the one piece of SF street wisdom every local will give you unprompted.
